Unknown perpetrators set two fires in Babelsberg on Monday night. According to the police, shortly after midnight on Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse, a cable that had protruded from the ground and had just been laid was set on fire. The fire in the sheathing of the cable spread to a front door, which was severely damaged.
A short time later, the alarmed police officers noticed another burning cable in a neighboring street. The emergency services extinguished the flames with a fire extinguisher from their patrol car. The police are investigating serious arson. The search measures that were initiated were initially unsuccessful. Suspicious persons were not identified. The amount of damage caused is still unclear.
