Unusual! Hundreds of ants invaded the monitor of a user, who desperately asked for help

It is known among gamers that sometimes neglecting electronic devices such as PCs and consoles can lead to a buildup of dirt and dust. However, in more extreme situations, cases have been reported in which these artifacts, stored in precarious conditions, have come to attract unexpected pests, such as a colony of ants.

A user shared in a Facebook group that his monitor was invaded by a colony of bugs, leaving many amazed with the incredible amount of insects that were seen.

The individual’s bewilderment at his monitor invaded by ants left him worried. Not knowing how to disassemble it to clean it, he asked for advice in a Facebook group, stating that he did not have any kind of candy (something sweet) near his desk. The request generated immediate responses, with users sharing similar anecdotes and offering solutions. Mostly, they suggested solutions such as the use of insecticides or spraying the base and cables of the monitor with it.

These types of issues are common when using a monitor in low light conditions. Backlight and heat attract insects that can become trapped in the LCD’s coatings. To resolve this, there are several options:

  • Attract the live insect with light (monitor off).
  • If the insect died, wait for it to dry and tap the panel gently.
  • If none of the above solutions work, consult a technical service.

This is an experience that could resonate with many, since as we said the heat emitted by electronic devices is often attractive to various insects. It’s not uncommon for these little visitors to view our monitors, consoles, and computers as convenient havens.
