US cancels flight restriction to Venezuela requested in 2019 by Trump

Announcements Through social networks, a statement was released that gives evidence of an alleged authorization by the United States, to lift the restrictions on flights between the United States and Venezuela.

According to said unofficial information, the aeronautical authorities of the United States (USA) have lifted the restriction on commercial flights to Venezuela, imposed in 2019 during the government of Donald Trump.

The information was released by the journalist Madelein García, through her account on the social network Twitter

“The #US aeronautical authorities lifted the restriction on commercial flights to #Venezuela that was imposed by the Trump administration in #2019. #Venezuela is no longer dangerous, they eliminated the NOTAM. This opens the way to re-establish flights in the future,” García published.

Flight restriction cancellation notice

According to unofficial information given by García, the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics, INAC, would have received a communication identified as “NOTAM of cancellation A0008/23”, dated June 2, by which the prohibition of flight operations in Venezuelan territory and airspace below 26,000 feet.

This measure would nullify the one identified as “NOTAM C0013/19” issued in May 2019, which restricted the permission of US airlines and commercial operators to operate in the country.

By lifting this restriction, these airlines and commercial operators would have permission to fly over Venezuelan airspace, in addition to aircraft registered in the United States.
