The United States Senate approved this Friday the FEND Off Fentanyl bill, which allows the Executive to use assets seized from Mexican cartels involved in fentanyl trafficking, as well as chemical precursors necessary for its manufacture.
“By going after the illicit fentanyl supply chain, from China to Mexico, our bill will help stop fentanyl at its source,” said US Senator Sherrod Brown, chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee.
“Today, we are taking another big step forward by passing this bipartisan bill, and finally holding China and the Mexican drug cartels accountable for bringing deadly drugs into our country.” pointed out the senator.
The bipartisan legislation, which is part of the FY 202 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), passed the full Senate.
