The celebration of Valentine’s Day every February 14 also represents a commercial movement where some seek to give gifts to their partners, as well as loved ones or friends.
What are Valentine’s gifts and how much do they cost?
One of the most common gifts are flowers. As explained by Luis, a vendor who has had a flower stand on 18 de Julio for several years, those who decide to give them away tend to choose red roses over other options.
Each rose is around $100 and both a unit and a bouquet are usually sold with the amount that the buyer wants. “For Valentine’s Day they sell more. I ordered 500 roses, I hope to sell them,” Luis told El Observador.
Another of the gifts that are made on this day are stuffed animals with some phrases for lovers. Prices for these range from $190 to $350., depending on the size and decoration it has, according to what they said from another store on 18 de Julio. Those with phrases like “I love you” or “I love you” are usually worth more than those that are simpler.
For those who decide to decorate a place with personalized Valentine balloons with hearts and phrases, prices vary between $120 and $350. Although there may also be some more expensive depending on the decoration.
