It is projected that Peruvians will spend between 100 and 150 soles for this February 14th, according to the Andina agency. “With the uncertainty, Peruvians will be cautious with their purchases”said the president of the CCL Retail and Distribution Guild, Leslie Passalacqua.
He added that ordinary citizens are more concerned about the basic family basket. “The expenses of 14 will be more thoughtful”he added.
The official recalled that the products preferred by the population Valentine’s Day Are the flowers, perfumes, jewelry, stuffed animals and a romantic dinner.
How will the sales go for Valentine’s Day?
The representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Lima also spoke about the expectation of the businesses for the sales of the products of Valentine’s Day. As explained, this sector expects a 3% growth to be maintained as it happened in 2022.
He also highlighted that the industry has focused on online sales, since physical marketing has been affected by the constant protests in downtown Lima.
He also specified that more than 60% of purchases in the retail sector are made with cards from financial institutions due to promotions and discounts.
Valentine’s promotions
Leslie Passalacqua stated that businesses have launched promotions and discounts of up to 70%, since they need to recover lost sales due to the protests carried out precisely during the end of the year holidays.
He recalled that the business sector makes cash during the Valentine’s Day and these months to be able to face the school campaigns and for Mother’s Day.
