VERA has been replaced by a hit comeback show in the latest shakeup of the ITV schedule.
Viewers tuned in as the 12th series of the hit crime drama airs on Sunday evenings.
It sees actress Brenda Blethyn star as DCI Vera Stanhope.
But as the final episode looms, ITV has now confirmed which program will resume its 8pm slot.
Going forward, Endeavor will replace Vera in the schedule.
However, they will be repeated after show bosses previously announced it was ending after 10 years.
It is currently uncertain if there will be another Vera series next year on the broadcaster.
One of the show’s main cast members previously opened up about whether Brenda was going to be “taking a break” from the program.
Riley Jones, who plays Mark Edwards, said: “Well, I think it’s like any job, especially a job where it’s so intense.
“Especially for Brenda obviously, she’s in pretty much every scene and she has so much dialogue, it’s a lot of work and it’s very intense for Brenda.
“So like any job when you do a big stint where you finish it and you just think, ‘I just need a break’.”
He went on to reveal to Express.co.uk that he was unsure if there would be a 13th series.
“I obviously hope there is and I’ll wait to see if we get that call,” he said.
“And when we do, it’s all gone, but I know as much as you do.”
Vera concludes this Sunday on ITV1.
