Yesterday, Tuesday, the trend was already clear: VfB Stuttgart agreed with the French first division club ES Troyes on the transfer of Alexis Tibidi, it was said. Around three million euros are to flow as a transfer fee. It only needs the approval of SCR Altach, the current loan club of the winger.
What sounds like a formality seems to be a bit more complicated. As the ‘Bild’ now reports, VfB is demanding more from Troyes than the compensation payment mentioned and is still blocking Tibidi’s transfer to his home country of France – a situation with which the player himself obviously has his problems. A strike is suspected.
According to information from the tabloid, the 19-year-old was not in the squad for Altach’s most recent test match against Stuttgart’s second team because he had not previously appeared at the training session of the Austrian first division club. Tibidi absolutely wants to move to Troyes and apparently wants to emphasize his wish by staying away. He is still under contract with VfB until 2025 – but at the latest he should no longer have any prospects there.
