The Frenchwoman started first during the giant slalom of the Worlds, Thursday in Méribel, to achieve the second time of the first run.

Double giant world champion (in 2013 and 2017), Tessa Worley dreams of a third crown, Thursday February 16 in Méribel, for her last alpine skiing world championships. No woman has yet managed to achieve this feat. The Frenchwoman left with bib number 1 in the morning, to establish the first reference time of the race at 1’02”66.

The 33-year-old tricolor skier saw only one rival do better than her in this first round, for 12 small hundredths of a second: the American Mikaela Shiffrin, big favorite of the event after her five victories in giant this winter. Third place on the podium is occupied by the Italian Federica Brignone, 19 hundredths behind the French. The second and final round takes place at 1:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on France 3 and on the site of france.tv.
