After fifty years of activity, the North American band Aerosmith announced today a farewell tour of the United States and Canada with 40 dates that will begin on September 2 in Philadelphia. In this way, they would not play in Argentina again

The band released the news through its official page with a video in which they simulate the chaos caused by the rumor of the farewell, until the band (which had already announced its retirement in 2017) confirms the information.

“After 50 years, 10 world tours and playing to over 100 million fans, it’s time for one last try,” says the official Twitter account of the band fronted by Steven Tyler along with a flyer containing the dates of the tour that will end on January 26 in Montreal.

The concert in Boston, the band’s hometown, is scheduled for New Year’s Eve.

The American band The Black Crowes will open each performance of the tour produced by Live Nation. Tickets for the shows will go on sale next Friday morning.

An emblem of American rock and the creator of numerous hits, Aerosmith was formed in Boston in 1970. Its members are Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford. According to the specialized site Variety, Kramer will not be part of this tour to “focus all his attention on his family and his health.”

The farewell announcement comes after Steven Tyler faced a lawsuit for sexual abuse of a minor that occurred in the mid-1970s. The musician denied the accusations.
