Video: Cardi B throws a microphone at a woman who threw a drink at her

Rapper Cardi B has defended herself after an audience member threw her drink at her while she was performing in Las Vegas.

The incident appears to have occurred during Cardi B’s performance at Drai’s Beachclub on Saturday. Video posted to social media shows Cardi B was performing her hit “Bodak Yellow” when someone holding a large glass apparently threw the drink at her, drenching the rapper while she was on stage.

Cardi B first looks shocked, then immediately retaliates by throwing her microphone at the person.

The video, which contains profanity, has more than 6 million views on TikTok.

A representative for the rapper did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News. Drai’s Las Vegas did not immediately respond to an email requesting additional information Sunday morning.

Cardi B is one of several artists who have recently been physically assaulted or had things thrown onstage while performing. Bebe Rexha shared images of her bruised eye in June after a concertgoer threw a phone at her during a performance at Manhattan’s Pier 17.

Nicolas Malvagna, the man charged in the incident, reportedly told a witness that he “thought it would be fun” to hit Rexha. His lawyer said he was just waiting for Rexha to take photos on stage and return the phone to him.

Look here what he said.

During a performance in Idaho about a week later, country singer Kelsea Ballerini was struck in the face by an object while singing her song “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)”. She left the stage and spoke to fans after returning to perform the song acoustically.

“I want to say about what just happened, all I care about is keeping everyone safe,” he said in the video shared by a fan. “So if you ever don’t feel safe, talk to someone around you. It’s safe everywhere tonight.”

Harry Styles appeared to wince after being hit with an object during his concert in Vienna earlier this month. It’s unclear what happened, but Styles was seen on video holding his head in his hands while apparently being punched as he left the stage.

This was the second time Styles had been hit with something during a performance of “Love on Tour”. Last year, Styles was hit in the eye by a Skittles candy thrown at him while Skittles responded with an ad in the Los Angeles Times asking people not to throw the candy.
