An explosion took place on Wednesday morning on board a ship in the harbor of Sulina Port, and the crew was taken over by the intervention teams and brought safely to the port, to be medically evaluated.

Coast Guard representatives announced that on Wednesday morning they were asked to intervene to rescue the crew of a ship.
“At 06.50, following a “MAYDAY” emergency message sent to a commercial ship informing that an explosion had occurred on board, the MRCC launched a SAR operation to rescue its crew. A means of mobility from the Coast Guard and a specialized SAR vessel from ARSVOM participated in the rescue operation. All the crew members were brought safely to the port of Sulina, on board the ARSVOM ship”, stated the representatives of the Coast Guard.
The representatives of the Romanian Agency for Saving Human Life at Sea told News.ro that it was a general-cargo ship, flag Togo, which was in the harbor of Sulina Port.
The crew, made up of 12 people, was picked up and brought to the port, to be evaluated from a medical point of view.
