After a complicated start in Racing, Óscar Opazo was able to turn the situation around and, in his first start, he scored a great goal and was the figure of the Academy for the Argentine Cup.
Óscar Opazo was not having a good time in Argentina. After signing for Racing Club de Avellaneda, Torta saw how his coach had not considered him and, even, he was the third right back on the list of eligible. Despite the above, the former defender of Colo Colo continued working and found a window to show off.

The match for those from Avellaneda did not start in a great way since, after goalkeeper Gabriel Arias made an error, Óscar Chiquichano scored the first goal on the scoreboard after a minute of play. With the whole game ahead, the albiceleste team began to advance lines and, in the 42nd minute, he appeared Óscar Opazo to tie the commitment with a great cross shot that left the rival goalkeeper without options. After equality, Gabriel Rojas (85′) and Paolo Guerrero (89′) were in charge of closing the match in favor of Racing by 3-1.
Finished the match, the official transmission chose Óscar Opazo as the figure of the engagement and, in an interview with TyC Sports, the Chilean showed all his happiness for the achievement obtained and for overcoming the difficult start in his new squad.

“This is an effort award, I want to dedicate it to my family. I had to debut the other day, I was patient because I really wanted to be able to play and several games had passed, but I always said that I was calm because I was training well and at any moment it was going to touch me”, he began explaining.
Regarding his hard start in the Primer Grande, Torta recognized that “It was strange because I was used to playing, I had been playing in Colo Colo, where we were champions. It was hard to assume, but on the one hand I was calm because I was giving myself a hundred”.
“The coach considered that what he was giving was not enough, but I was calm because he trained well and knew that the opportunity would come”, acknowledged the former Popular winger and who, save, seeks to establish himself in ownership.
