We reported about it: With zero-rating offers, the end of March has to be the end of the day. That affects them telecom with their StreamOn offer, but also Vodafone, they offered the Vodafone Pass. While Telekom is terminating the option for StreamOn customers and granting them unlimited data volume for 90 days, this is regulated differently at Vodafone – although it can of course look different depending on the contractual situation.

In the case of a Young 2017 M with Music Pass, for example, the customer gets 10 GB of extra volume per month as long as he uses the current mobile phone contract. In other words: the Vodafone Pass is valid until the end of March, after which the customer gets a data surcharge. Affected customers are already being informed by the company.

The European Court of Justice had already ruled on September 2, 2021 that Deutsche Telekom’s zero-rating options “Stream On” and “Vodafone Pass” are incompatible with the principle of equal treatment of data traffic. In April 2022, the Federal Network Agency prohibited the marketing of the zero rating options “StreamOn” and “Vodafone Pass”.
