In all fairness, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 is in development. It’s been rumored for a long time now, in countless rounds, and just six months ago we were able to report that the Editor-in-Chief on the VGC rumor trail found out that it was due to launch next year, barely twenty years after the acclaimed original was released. Yesterday, further evidence was released that points to something going on at Konami.

It was the voice actor and singer Donna Burke, who previously recorded for Metal Gear Solid V, among other things, who released an extremely unambiguous image on Twitter. The tagline said “Recording in process” and the picture featured not only herself in her own tall persona, but also some kind of booklet with a picture of a cat with an eyepatch and the text Snake Eater.

Other images were also posted by the good Burke, and an astute fan was quick to note that one of the images featured the lyrics to Metal Gear Solid 3’s theme. Since none of the images have been taken down yet by Konami, this is perhaps best considered an (unofficial) announcement, right?

How excited are you for Snake’s (eventual) return?
