To the sound of anti-aircraft sirens, Joe Biden wandered the streets of kyiv on Monday, February 20, alongside his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky for a strong and historic image. Almost a year after the Russian invasion, the American president wanted to visit Ukraine. A surprise visit which begins with a meditation in front of the photos of the fallen soldiers, then the two heads of state hug each other, in front of the cameras.
Ammunition, anti-armour systems and surveillance radars
Joe Biden has pledged new weaponry and $500 million in additional aid. “I am here to show unwavering support for the nation’s independence and territorial integrity”, said the President of the United States. It promises artillery ammunition, anti-armour systems and air surveillance radars. The issue of aircraft delivery has not been raised publicly. There White House specifies that all the details on the weapons will be given in the coming days.
