Maduro and Modi are “dismayed” by the death of the president of Iran in a helicopter accident
The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Madurothe Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modiand his Iraqi counterpart, Mohamed Shea al Sudanihave been “dismayed” by the Death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi of the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hosein Amirabdolahian, and the rest of his companions in the helicopter crash suffered during Sunday afternoon in a mountainous and difficult-to-access area of the province of East Azerbaijan, in the extreme north of Iran.
“I am shocked by the hard news about the sensitive physical loss of the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi. Cilia (Flores, first lady of Venezuela), who is a friend of his wife, and I are overwhelmed by great pain for having to say goodbye to an exemplary personan extraordinary leader of the world as our brother Ebrahim is and will always be, an excellent human being, defender of the sovereignty of his people and unconditional friend of our country” Maduro has published on his social network account X.
Afterwards, he conveyed his condolences to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei thereto whom he wished “divine consolation for such sensitive losses.”
Modi, for his part, has shown his “sadness” at the ‘”tragic death” of Raisi, who “will always remember” his contribution to strengthening the bilateral relations of the two countries.
