Our eminent Patrik wasn’t the only one to give Warhammer 40,000: Darktide a very positive review when the PC version launched last November, but unfortunately the title hasn’t lived up to everyone’s expectations. Fans have been particularly critical of the upgrade system and the crafting system – two key aspects of the game. The complaints have been so loud that the developers at Fatshark have now decided to take serious action.

The Swedes have published an open letter admitting that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide failed to meet fans’ expectations, and have therefore decided to postpone the Xbox Series S/X versions, seasonal content and premium cosmetics to instead focus on making changes and improvements based on the feedback. We’ve been told specifically that the crafting system and levling will be redone while they continue to work on general stability and optimization.

This isn’t something that can be done quickly, so Fatshark won’t say when the updates will be ready or when the console versions will launch.
