Washington DC under code orange for poor air quality

Air quality in the Washington DC metropolitan area is under code orange again due to the arrival of smoke from wildfires in Canada, according to the agency Clean Air Partners.

Although unhealthy air quality like the one that occurred in early June is not in sight, Telemundo 44 meteorologist Joseph Martínez made the following recommendation.

“Only people who have asthma or some type of respiratory or heart condition should limit outdoor exercise between Wednesday and Thursday,” he explained.

Several weeks ago the worst air quality was recorded at the DMV in a decade when haze engulfed the entire city and authorities issued code brown, listed as “dangerous.”

However, Martínez foresees that on this occasion the orange code will be maintained during the afternoon of Wednesday and Thursday.
