Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed Iran for the attack on an oil tanker in the Arabian Sea about a week ago. “Iran’s aggressions don’t stop,” Netanyahu said in Jerusalem on Sunday.

“We do everything – and will do everything – to defend our people, and we react vigorously to the attacks against us.” With the attack on the tanker, the country violated international freedom of navigation.

As several media reported, the ship flying the Liberian flag was only slightly damaged in the drone attack on February 10 and was able to continue sailing.

The tanker belonged to an international company headed by Israeli businessman Ejal Ofer. An oil tanker off the coast of Oman was attacked by a drone in November. An Israeli official at the time said the attack was “part of Iran’s efforts to destabilize the region.”

There have been repeated attacks on Israeli-owned freighters in the region. Israel always blames Iran. Both countries are enemies. (dpa)
