Three 4-year-old boys escaped from their preschool on Tuesday, covering more than a kilometer. The father of one of them asks for better supervision of the children.

A confused father. Alexandre saw his 4-year-old son, as well as two other children, escape the vigilance of the staff of his nursery school in the 15th arrondissement of Paris last Tuesday and travel more than a kilometer. He confides in the columns of the Parisianexpressing his incomprehension in the face of this unusual incident.

“We entrusted our child to school and potentially, in the evening, he is not there”, he underlines in a serious tone.

“We have a backlash, we tell ourselves that we have not gone far from the drama”, still assures the father of the family, still marked by the event.

A passerby contacts their school

The three young friends decide, obviously on a whim, to leave their establishment on Tuesday morning.

“One of them said: ‘Come to my house, I have lots of toys'”, says Alexandre.

They easily manage to get out, the front door not working for four and a half years according to the father, and travel 1.5 kilometers of a dangerous journey, punctuated in particular by a long boulevard and a roundabout.

Fortunately, a mother spots them and accompanies them on part of the journey, before contacting their school. Alexandre is particularly grateful to this passer-by “without whom the outcome of this story would probably have been more tragic”.

A “contest of unlikely events” according to the city

The father of the family claims to have since exchanged with his son to try to reason with him, despite his young age. “We try to talk to him, to tell him that it was serious,” he says.

However, Alexandre points to several malfunctions, including the damaged school entrance door which, despite around twenty reports according to him, has never been repaired. He indicates that he has already appealed to the Paris administrative court and plans to file a complaint next Monday.

For his part, the LR mayor of the 15th arrondissement of Paris Philippe Goujon confided on BFMTV his “indignation” and his “emotion” after this incident. He evokes a “competition of unlikely events” and indicates that an administrative investigation has been opened.
