Disappeared for just under two months, the teenager was returned to her family by the gendarmes while the 30-year-old was arrested and placed in police custody.
The end of a long anguish for Nawel’s family. Last Monday, the 14-year-old girl, missing since February 24, was found safe and sound by the gendarmerie, indicates The Picard Courier.
As her mother feared, Nawel ran away with a 37-year-old man named Nicolas, with whom she had an illegitimate and illegal relationship. She suddenly left the family home in Oise following an argument that arose after receiving an SMS from the 30-something, in which he called the teenager “my little wife.”
“It was done on the spot. We didn’t prepare anything but we knew that otherwise we were going to be separated,” she told the local daily.

During this same interview, the young girl developed the way in which she and the 37-year-old man organized their discreet escape and managed to pass under the radar of the authorities.
“We took the road to Compostela to Tours on foot, by hitchhiking and by public transport. There were a lot of people then to go unnoticed and dodge the police, it was better,” she adds.
To survive, both had “a budget” and “made unsold items in bakeries.” Before his escape, Nicolas took care to settle his accounts so as not to leave bank traces. He also stole money from his employer.
However, this Saturday, the couple made the choice to return to the Oise department and moved into a motorhome located on the land of the man’s parents, located in Saint-Just-en-Chaussée. The 30-year-old was arrested there on Monday by the surveillance and intervention squad of the gendarmerie (Psig) of Clermont.
Probable lawsuits
Still in the columns of Picard mail, the mother of the teenager indicates that Nawel is physically well. “On the other hand, psychologically, it is more difficult” adds the one who says she is ready to constitute a civil party in this file.
Placed in police custody this Monday evening, Nicolas could be prosecuted for corruption of a minor, and possibly for sexual assault on a minor.
For his part, Nawel comes to his rescue. “All I can say is that there is love and always will be between us. In my opinion, maturity has nothing to do with age so I hope really that he is going out because there is no reason for him to stay locked up”, she concludes.
