“We sometimes had to reframe”: when the production of Top Chef calls to order certain candidates who are a little too party-loving

Between the tests, the candidates of Top Boss can go about their business. Thus, in the evening, some do not hesitate to go out with friends… Even if it means regretting it a little the next day, as the production told us.

Chain the rhythm of events, bear stress, manage the absence of loved ones… Top Boss puts a strain on the candidates’ nerves. Fortunately, the pros of the stoves can count on each other to spin a helping hand in the event of a galley and to support each other after an elimination. They may be competitors on the set of the culinary competition, outside, there is rather a good atmosphere. It must be said that the production of the culinary competition does everything to make the candidates feel as good as possible to give the best of themselves.

Top Boss : where are the candidates housed during the competition?

Starting with accommodation. The candidates of Top Boss are all housed in the same hotel residence near the studio where the competition is shot, in the Paris region. There they have access to “a small kitchenette to be able to do tests between events if they wish“, explains us thus Romuald Graveleaudirector of programs for Studio 89, the production company that produces Top Boss. On the other hand, for the events that require special training, as was the case for the one against the MOF (Meilleurs Ouvriers de France), they had “access to the set, all together, so that they have suitable equipment“. But what about parties?

They make dinners in good tables and continue the evening a little later. We see him the next morning. Sometimes we had to reframe. But I am not their father. They are big, major and vaccinated.“And if the production keeps watch, it’s for a good reason.”They are told to be careful because top chef, it’s both a marathon and a sprint: you have to go fast for a very long time. So you have to keep up the pace. Sometimes a small gap can be fatal, especially on an eliminatory race“, concludes the producer.
