Starting in February, a new mechanism will be applied to define the increases in prepaid medicine fees. Until the end of 2022, a modality was in force that implied that prices increased every 2 months, in the same percentage as the bimonthly evolution of a health cost index prepared by the Government. Although this parameter will continue to be used to define the percentage, the increases will be monthly and members who receive a net income of less than six times the minimum, vital and mobile salary may complete an affidavit so that the increase has a cap, equivalent to 90%. of the variation that the Average Taxable Remuneration of Stable Workers (RIPTE) has had in a month.

For the February quotas, the values are already defined: the increase according to the health cost index will be 8.21%. As indicated to The nation sources of the Superintendency of Health Services (SSS), a resolution is still pending that will enable the form for the affidavit on income in that agency’s website. Some users had managed to complete the process but then it became impossible to enter the form. To do so, you must have a level 3 tax code and add an interactive service on the AFIP website.

Even so, despite the difficulties of the process, the deadline to fill out the form is running. For the payment of the first installment with an increase, in February, the limit is the 20th of this month and then the declaration will have to be made again every month, provided that the income is less than six times the minimum wage, a figure that is being updated due to high levels of inflation.

In this way, if December income is considered, the fees in February will have a 4.91% increase (instead of 8.21%) for those who declare that they have received, for the last month of 2022, wages or labor income or social security, net of discounts, less than $371,718 (an amount equivalent to six times the minimum wage in force last month). While for the March quota, the income that will act as a threshold to be able to request the reduction of the increase percentage will be $392,562, since the minimum wage rose this month to $65,427.

It should be noted that price variations must be informed to affiliates at least one month in advance. Therefore, in order to make the readjustments in February, notifications must arrive on these days. According to the instructions of the Government, the affiliates who meet the requirement for the ceiling to be applied to the percentage of the increase, must complete the affidavit about their situation between the 1st and 20th of each month.

In the affidavit, the denomination of the prepaid must be completed and the “Yes” box must be marked to the declaration that an income of up to six times the minimum wage is received. The affiliate will also be asked to enable the SSS to validate the information with other State agencies.
