From classics like Terminator to the incredible Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, action and science fiction cinema has led us to all imaginable settings. It does not matter if it is inside or outside the earth, because the weapons, the shootings and the explosions know no borders.
The film we have in hand today is called Looper and unites two very exciting concepts: assassins armed to the teeth and travels in the time. It was released in 2012, lasts 119 minutes, was directed by Rian Johnson (Star Wars: Rogue One and The Last Jedi) and starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt.
To sum up, the criminal organizations of 2072 have a big problem: murders are prohibited (Like now?) and technological advances in police investigative techniques make it very easy to know who the perpetrators are, so they use the time travel to send people back in time. Loopers are assassins who take on these people. The problem of the protagonist, a Looper, comes when he they send their future selves.
If you are not too fussy about the laws of time travel and are looking for an interesting and different action movie, then Looper may interest you. Without being a masterpiece of cinema, it has a 84 and 8.2 on Metacritic by critics and users respectively, a 6.6 on Filmaffinity and 4/5 stars in SansaCinema. Only one point remains to be clarified…
