The body of 24-year-old Dickson “Joel” De Los Reyes was recovered by the State Police Underwater Recovery Unit in a swamp along Route 107 in Revere, police said.

The body was found shortly after 8:30 pm Friday after the Massachusetts State Police aerial team sighted it on the Rumney Marsh reservation, according to authorities.

The Office of the Medical Examiner has the body in their custody for investigation.

After finding evidence of her disappearance, divers investigated the wetlands off Route 107 on the Revere-Saugus line.

According to Pastor José Marcial Sánchez, a family friend who was on the scene, the missing man’s wallet and clothing were found in the area being searched.

Police said evidence indicated that Dickson “Joel” De Los Reyes, 24, got into a Lyft carpool on Shurtleff Street in Chelsea at 3:42 a.m. Sunday. The Lyft ride ended around 3:42 a.m., and when he was done, De Los Reyes’ cell phone called 911 and was connected to Revere police. The call was disconnected and several attempts by the police to return the call were unsuccessful.

The call is believed to have been made from the American Legion Highway area of ​​Revere, police said. Nothing has been heard from De Los Reyes since then.

The parents of 24-year-old Dickson De Los Reyes have been heartbroken since his disappearance.
