WhatsApp adds the ability to share screen during video calls

MADRID, (Portaltic/EP). – Meta added a new feature for WhatsApp, which will allow users to share the screen when a video call is in progress, so that its members can view the same content as the other party.

The company has been working on new communication formats for months, among which are video messages, which are used to instantly share moments with image and voice and can now be used globally.

The platform has also been updated with new features for group chats, which already supports up to 32 participants – who can join at any time during the call – and who will now also be able to view the content of the users’ screen.

This has been announced by the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, through his Instagram channel, where he has said that they are adding the ability to share content in this way during video calls.

In this case, users will be able to view it directly on their mobile phone and with this option the person who is sharing the content of their screen will be reflected at the bottom of the interface.

To start screen sharing, click on the ‘Share’ icon and choose between sharing a specific application or allowing users to view the entire screen.

With this, WhatsApp announced that, with this option -available for the Desktop version and for ‘smartphones’- the mobile screen can be used in landscape format. If used on a computer, the other members of the group will be placed at the top of the interface. On the contrary, it is on the right side where they are placed when it comes to the version of the mobile application.
