WhatsApp allows users to share statuses from its web version

MIAMI.- The messaging platform Whatsapp announced an update to its web version that expands its functions and allows users to share statuses and have a better experience through the Whatsaap beta version 2.2353.59which seeks to fully integrate all functions in the web version and provide greater convenience to the user.

Importantly, for now, it can only be used by a limited number of users who previously joined the official beta program of the web client, which gives users access to some exclusive beta features, and will be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks, as reported by WABetaInfo.

The new option is aimed primarily at users who spend a considerable amount of time on their computer working, and makes it easier to publish texts, photos, videos and GIFs that they want to share with friends and family from the website.

Until now, this option was only available for mobile versions of the application and its update means progress for users who prefer to use WhatsApp on their computers.

The web version of WhatsApp only allowed you to view statuses published by others, without the option to create and share them, which represented a failure and disappointment for many users who prefer to use the web version.

How to share a status in the web version?

To post a new status on the web version, users only need to access the “News” tab in the WhatsApp interface, where they will find a “+” icon at the top. Then they must press it to be able to easily choose the content on their device or create a photo or video on the spot and obtain the user experience already established on the platform.

In order to do this, it will be necessary to give permissions to the browser in which WhatsApp Web is being used because the photographs or videos will be those stored on the computer.

According to WABetaInfo, a website specialized in reliable reporting on new WhatsApp features before its official launch, the ability to share statuses on the web version is changing the way users interact with the application on their computers. This feature eliminates the need for users to transfer images and videos to their primary smartphones before posting them as status updates.

They recommend having the mobile application updated to be alert of changes that come from Meta.
