Every year for the past nine years, Capital has unveiled, in collaboration with Statista, the ranking of the 500 companies most appreciated by their employees in France. For this study, thousands of employees are surveyed and answer two questions without the intervention of their human resources manager.

The first question was: “On a scale of 0 to 10, how strongly would you recommend your employer to an acquaintance or family member?”. The second focused on the industry as a whole: “Based on everything you know about the following employers in your industry, would you recommend them to an acquaintance or family member?”.

French groups are in the spotlight

On this investigation large-scale, no less than 2,200 groups whose employees are surveyed but only 500 are selected. And unlike the rankings on the highest salaries in France, French companies are doing very well here.

In this case, the Top 5 of the best employers in terms of employee satisfaction is made up of four French companies: Airbus, L’Oreal, Chanel and Arkéma. Only the German Mercedes-Benz comes to play spoilsports with a score of 8.51/10. Our colleagues from Capital magazine specify, however, that the “staff are low in France”. It is the automotive group that was on the top step of the podium in 2022.

BMW disappears from the ranking

In addition, the Toulouse aircraft manufacturer has regained its title of “best employer” after having lost it over the past three years. In the Top 10, we will also note the very good performance of L’Oréal, which gained 13 places over one year by making real efforts for jobs for seniors.

Among the falls recorded in 2023, we note the disappearance of BMW, which occupied the second position in the ranking in 2022. Luxury does not necessarily succeed in the ranking since Hermès left the Top 5 in 2022 to disappear from the Top 30 this year. The luxury giant LVMH, however, grabs a few places to appear in 25th position in the table.

Finally, note the good performance of the operator Orange, which is back in the Top 15 with the arrival of the new general manager Christel Heydemann.
