If today, we are used to sorting our objects and belongings which we then throw in a dedicated trash can, shouldn’t the future rather turn to reuse and transformation? This is all the more true in the clothing industry, one of the most polluting sectors on the planet. It is in this context that two young entrepreneurs decided to create Resap and present their project in Who wants to be my partner?, the M6 program bringing entrepreneurs together with investors. Their objective ? Grow their business putting sustainable development at its heart, and to drive industrialization of a market yet to be conquered.

L’upcyclinga method of recycling clothes like no other

“Upcycling is a niche market that is still quite difficult to understand from the outside, but we, from the inside, can see the potential of this market,” explain Daphné Grem and Mona Boujtita, the two founders of Resap. With their company, they give a second life to our clothes. Because that’s the whole point ofupcycling : it is a question both of recycling, but above all of reusing a raw material to develop a completely different object behind and while remaining accessible. Like the plastic bottle, the two friends offer multiple pieces, which have the particularity of being unique. Because if the pattern of the garment is always the same, the material used will change depending on the available stocks. Several pieces of jeans are thus used for jackets or new pants, for example: “The colors differ depending on what we have.”

“We want to become the European leader inupcycling

Thus, in the many pieces available at Resap, there is not one like it, or of the same color, or with the same traces of wear. This is what makes the specificity ofupcyclingand therefore its potential interest for investors in Who wants to be my partner?. In addition, it offers strong ecological and development prospects: “Today, at the moment T, we believe and we are convinced that this is a solution for the future. In five years, we will still be there, we want to become the European, even world, leader inupcycling“, announce the two founders to us. The young women have the particularity of having made themselves, like one of the show’s investors, Anthony Bourbon: “We knew the investors in the show by name, but we had never met them, but I followed Anthony Bourbon a little because it was a course that spoke to methe fact that it is a ‘self-made man’, which he really learned on his own. Me in any case, as an entrepreneur, it’s a career that inspired me a lot.” Will they be able to convince the jury? See you this Wednesday, January 18 at 9:10 p.m. on M6.
