Why is World Dog Day celebrated today?

DRAFTING.- Every July 21, World Dog Day is celebrated with the aim of raising awareness among the population about the mistreatment and abuse suffered by these animals.

It is considered a faithful and unconditional companion for humans, which is why they say it is man’s best friend.

The dog has an exceptional value in the life of living beings since, when it reaches a family, it becomes part of it.

Over the years, this animal has helped man in different aspects of life, such as hunting, watching over herds, rescue work, detecting drugs or explosives, guiding the blind and countless other activities. But the most important thing is the company they provide their owners and the ability they have to cheer them up on a bad day.

It should be noted that it was in 2004 when it was established that World Dog Day would be celebrated every July 21, although in countries such as the United States, Guatemala or Colombia, it was set on August 26.
