The network supplier AVM can do a few again product premieres celebrate. At the ANGA COM broadband trade fair in Cologne, trade visitors are currently being shown what customers can later purchase. The focus is on three new router products that combine the new wireless standard Wi-Fi-7 with many other smart functions.
The new showcase box for the cable connection
AVM itself puts a big exclamation mark behind the product FritzBox 6670 Cable. The “all-in-one router” is to become the new flagship device for Wi-Fi 7 on the cable connection. Second powerful update on board: in addition to the DECT-ULE standard, the device with support from Zigbee becomes a clearly versatile center for many smart home devices. The integrated TV tuner enables television programs to be streamed in the home network.
FritzBox 6670 Cable
- DOCSIS 3.1 router for Internet on the cable connection

Fiber optic and DSL in one router
The new FritzBox 5690 Pro is used on both fiber optic and DSL connections. AVM sees the advantage here, especially in regions “where fiber optic expansion is still imminent.” The developers primarily point out the tri-band mesh including 6 GHz, Wi-Fi 7 support is of course also given here. Also on board: Zigbee and the promise that all preparations for “Matter” have been made.

The 10 Gigabit/s machine
As the name suggests, the FritzBox 5690 XGS is used in fiber optic networks with the XGS-PON standard. Up to 10 gigabits/s are possible at the top, and there is also a 10 gigabit WAN/LAN port on board. There is also Wi-Fi 7 as well as Zigbee support and Matter capability.
