Could Rubio be Trump's vice presidential ticket? These are the options

MIAMI.- The question floating around in the electoral environment these days is whether the name of Donald Trump’s vice presidential ticket would be known next May, during a donor retreat organized by the former president’s campaign in Florida.

The event, which will take place from May 3 to 5 in Palm Beach, will feature several prominent Republicans, who are seen as potential running mates for Trump, according to POLITICO.

Rubio among the guests

Guests include prominent senators and governors such as Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, JD Vance, Doug Burgum and Kristi Noem, as well as Representatives Elise Stefanik and Byron Donalds.

Some analysts believe that Rubio, recognized for his impact on foreign policy and his influence among Hispanic voters, could be a valuable asset for Trumpwho seeks to broaden his appeal among various segments of the electorate.

However, sources close to Trump told POLITICO that a short list of vice presidential candidates has not yet been finalized, and a firm decision would not be expected to be made until closer to the Republican National Convention in July.

Alliances

Meanwhile, Trump has been busy with his trial in New York, and this meeting could be a key moment to gauge support and alliances within the party ahead of the November elections.

The guest list also includes high-profile figures not necessarily considered for the vice presidency, but aligned with Trump, such as House Speaker Mike Johnson and other senators and close advisers.

This exclusive event, accessible only by invitation to current Trump donors, is seen as the latest in a series of de facto tests for those who aspire to be his running mate.
