The Municipality of La Plata launched the summer camp in the Children’s Republic, in which children between the ages of 6 and 11 participate, coordinated by an interdisciplinary team of professionals. The activities take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the emblematic Gonnet property and include recreational, educational, sports and integration proposals.

“Between 300 and 350 registrants attend in the morning and in the afternoon the rest of the registered attendees divided into three bases,” explained the local Sports Director, Manuel Alvarezand I add: “The number of participants exceeds that registered before the pandemic. We have made the decision to add more boys and girls so that they can enjoy the initiative”.

According to what was reported by the communal area, the days begin with the reception of the children, continue with the recognition of the place and continue with the implementation of activities specially designed according to the ages of each group. The favorite proposals of those who attend the recreational park daily are those that take place in the pool, unique in the region due to its dimensions, which not only guarantees the enjoyment of the attendees but also allows them to learn to move safely in the aquatic environment.

It is worth remembering that the colony has lifeguards and personnel from the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAME) permanently and with an interdisciplinary group made up of physical education teachers, assistants, coordinators, lifeguards, doctors and assistants. Likewise, so that all those interested in attending can do so, the Municipality made available a transportation service that arrives at the Repu from Plaza Moreno and different Party delegations.
