Rosario Central goalkeeper Gaspar Servio became the highest scoring goalkeeper of 2022 in world football, with four goals, as announced today by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

The organization, based in Lausanne, announced that Servio was the highest scoring goalkeeper in the world for the second consecutive year, since in 2021 he had scored seven goals in Guarani from Paraguay, in 2022 he added four in Rosario Central, all with shots from the point penal.

In addition to Servio, only one goalkeeper scored more than once in 2022 and it was the Colombian José Luis Chunga, from Alianza Petrolera, with two goals in the Colombia tournament.

Servio, former Banfield, Independiente Rivadavia, Arsenal, Dorados de Sinaloa and Cafeteros de México, scored three goals in the professional league, two against Arsenal and one against Godoy Cruz, and one in the Argentine Cup against Quilmes.

The IFFHS is an institution recognized by FIFA because it receives logistical support and its accredited members have exclusive access to the archives of the highest body in world football, although the prizes it awards are independent from those of the entity based in Zurich.
