Niko Kovac is critical of a transfer from Josuha Guilavogui to VfB Stuttgart. At today’s press conference, the VfL Wolfsburg coach said: “We have spoken. Of course he sees an opportunity there to get a contract that is limited to more than half a year. Stuttgart is not a bad place to live, he knows the coach, of course he would like to go. I want him to stay. He is very important, why should we weaken one another and strengthen another.”
And further: “He has achieved a lot here, is an integrative figure, is important for the club and the team. That’s why I have the feeling that a few percentage points still make him a bit doubtful. Contract is contract, we decide.” The tug of war over the 32-year-old six had recently caused trouble in the wolves’ camp. Basically, Guilavogui agrees with the Stuttgarters, but in the Autostadt they want to convince the French of an extension instead of a change.
