Lucinda A. Díaz has been found not guilty, this is how her verdict was handed down after being accused of being allegedly responsible for the death of her husband, 31-year-old Craig Chastain, on March 18, 2020, when a jury handed over the formal accusation against Díaz.
The investigation into the death began Sept. 5 when officers responded to a call at The Village Apartments located at 5228 S. Sugar Rd and observed an unconscious Chastain with a gunshot wound to the back of her head and Edinburg police reported that when he received the autopsy report, it revealed that the man had been shot, but not self-inflicted.
Díaz reportedly received $500,000 bail and his lawyer later requested a reduction.
Today, June 14, two years and seven months after the arrest of Lucinda A. Díaz, she has been found not guilty.
