Juarez City.- A woman who allegedly had a firearm in her possession was captured by municipal police officers in the Felipe Ángeles neighborhood on Tuesday night.

Adrián Sánchez Contreras, spokesman for the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM) reported that 34-year-old Neri Lorena RY was apprehended on Huautla and Bernardo Norzagaray streets, because she showed an evasive attitude when noticing the presence of the police units move past her.

She indicated that the policemen approached her due to her suspicious attitude, and when they carried out a physical inspection, they found a 9-millimeter pistol with 10 bullets strapped to her waist, for which she was arrested.

The female said that she was carrying the weapon for her protection, because the sector where she lives is very dangerous.

It was made available to the federal Public Ministry, for the probable violation of the federal law on firearms and explosives.
