Within the framework of the request for involuntary hospitalization by the mother of a young man from Eldorado who suffers from addiction to the drug known as stone, the director of Mental Health of the province, Nicolás Aranda, spoke with this medium to clarify how he was carrying that particular case.
Aranda in his communication first mentioned that the young man identified as Cristian, 25, would already be doing his rehabilitation at the Manantial Monoclinic in Posadas.
On the other hand, the doctor provided details of how the care for Cristian was in recent weeks, alleging that the young man would have been admitted by guard at the Samic Hospital in Eldorado on January 14. The patient at that time “presented a picture of crisis due to substance intoxication.”
Two days after his admission to the hospital, they contacted the patient’s mother, identified as Rosa, who mentioned that her son had previous voluntary hospitalizations due to drug use problems.

In addition, what this morning report was able to verify is that Cristian’s hospitalizations in recent months to overcome his addiction to stone were in San Miguel and Manantial de Posadas. After completing each period of therapy, it was suggested to the patient to continue with outpatient treatments, which according to the mother she had sustained for a short time and then abandoned them.
Likewise, Aranda mentioned that Moya was informed that “he should be discharged” because he no longer belonged to the Samic emergency area, where he was, since “a long time had passed since he arrived” and that “he was in to be discharged.”
Along these lines, he indicated that “Public Health provided all the treatment, but the process has relapses, and it is the patient who must be willing to do so,” added the official.
Likewise, according to official sources, approach strategies had to be evaluated, since Cristian needed the attention of a center specialized in addictions.
On the other hand, it was learned that the mother decided to prosecute the situation by carrying out a capacity restriction procedure, presenting it before the Family Court No. 1 of Eldorado.
In the process, Rosa requested the involuntary hospitalization of Cristian and suggested that the treatment be at the San Miguel clinic or in the province of Córdoba.
The woman mentioned, on the other hand, being the only relative who accompanies Cristian, since other relatives have decided to stay away, since the patient committed robberies and thefts to obtain money for the purchase of narcotics. The mother expressed fear that this situation would expose him to greater dangers, putting his life at risk.
In addition, the mother stated that Cristian is the father of a 1-year-old and two-month-old girl and the mother of the baby has also had a consumption problem. Rosa indicated that she even attended Sedronar for family therapy.
On the other hand, references of the case were requested from the head of Sedronar de Eldorado, who stated that interdisciplinary work was carried out with the ministry, but that the young man requested his discharge voluntarily and that his mother has attended family therapy in said institution.
During the visit to the hospital guard, Public Health personnel interviewed the 25-year-old young man, who was observed lucid, located in time and space, while he was in police custody.
Likewise, an interview was conducted in a private space with the mother, who provided administrative data, such as procedures with Include Health, and reiterated her desire that Cristian be admitted involuntarily, since various outpatient and voluntary treatments have been attempted without show Cristian adherence to these.
He also announced that he will file a complaint if the young man is discharged from the hospital.
In consultation with the Manantial Center, they reported that Cristian has been hospitalized there on several occasions, showing a weak will to adhere to treatment, also referring to the difficulty of working with the mother since it generates threats, pressures, and means that instigate the hospitalization of his son making it even more difficult to approach the case.
Regarding the availability of beds, they report that it can be evaluated by the center team to find out if the patient should be hospitalized or not. In the event that the evaluation gives a positive result for hospitalization, the young person must remain on the waiting list, until there is availability in the establishment.
In addition, from Public Health they mentioned that on Wednesday the 18th the director of the Include Health Program of the hospital was consulted about the status of the process in said program. The referent reported that the registration process for membership began the day before, which can take up to 90 days.
On the other hand, Cristian was interviewed by a Samic psychologist, who revealed that the young man mentioned that more than a year ago he had his first hospitalization at the Arandú clinic, where he confessed: “I was heavily doped there, I didn’t feel well at all, I finished the hospitalization in Manantial for a few days and then I continued with outpatient treatment”.
In addition, the professional added that the patient in his interview confessed that his consumption began four years ago, after the death of his father, which meant a great blow to his life.

On the other hand, there is a cooperative in the city of Eldorado that, upon learning of Cristian’s case, contacted this medium to offer its help in the rehabilitation process of the 25-year-old.
“The idea of the center is to be able to work on the problem of consumption, in a different way,” said Sofía Rosner, psychologist of the interdisciplinary team Vientos de Libertad located at kilometer 1.
“Our vision is to be able to provide community, collective support from the family point of view, to also be able to give company to the mother, the sister, to those who are supporting Cristian,” Sofía continued.
“I don’t think we can solve it easily because we have to see how the boy is, but if he is willing, we hope we can help him get out quickly (from addiction).”
Regarding the objective they want to achieve from their interdisciplinary center, he mentioned: “We want to get Cristian off the street, to do workshops, some physical activity or to meet other people so that he gets out of the consumer environment and is in a more healthy”.
In addition, along these lines, he indicated that “helping the family is also an objective, to see what situation they live in and how we can contribute.”
“The idea is to be able to make the whole situation that is happening to both the person who consumes and the family more enjoyable,” he closed.
