FRESNO COUNTY, California – Fresno County authorities reported an accident at Pine Flat Lake at about 8:15 pm Friday.
According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, a boat collided with a tree, causing the occupants to be thrown into the water.
One of the passengers hit her head and was knocked unconscious.
When officers arrived they provided first aid but the woman did not survive, authorities said.
Detectives continue to investigate and interview the individuals involved. The boat was impounded for further investigation, sheriff’s deputies added.
Officials remind that boat owners should not exceed 5 miles per hour after sunset.
