Migrants brave barbed wire to cross into the United States

Amid tension between the United States and Mexico over the installation of floating buoys and barbed wire on the border between the two countries, migrants have braved the sharp metal ground barrier to continue their journey north. Videos have captured families, sometimes with young children, navigating obstacles on the shore.

For more than two years, Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abott has escalated measures to keep migrants out of the United States. At the beginning of July, the report by a state official about the injuries caused to the migrants by the barbed wire and the order not to give them water generated renewed controversy, although the Texan government has denied these accusations.

The Joe Biden government has filed a lawsuit against the State of Texas for placing a buoy barrier without federal authorization. In July, Mexico sent a diplomatic note to express its concern about the floating wall.
