According to the police, the husband must have regularly used serious violence against his own wife from 1995 to spring 2021.
Among other things, he allegedly cut her fingers with a knife, twisted her arm so that it broke, used pliers to squeeze her fingertips, broke her nose, held an electric jigsaw against her hand and cut her pubic hair.

At Easter in 2021, he is said to have taken her down to the basement and put her in a sack which he taped shut before hitting her repeatedly with a metal rod.

Among other things, he allegedly forced the children to help him mistreat their mother.

– High penalty
The husband’s defender Nils Christian Nordhus tells TV 2 that his client partially pleads guilty to mistreatment of his spouse.
– It is nevertheless the case that there is a large gap between the prosecution’s description of the criminal offense and his acknowledgment of what he has done, says Nordhus.
His client pleads not guilty to attempted murder and mistreatment of the two children.
– This will be explained in more detail in court, he says.
The prosecutor in the case, state prosecutor Aud Gravås, is tight-lipped before the trial begins in Oslo district court on Tuesday morning.
– The indictment concerns matters with high penalties, she says.
The aggrieved wife and children are represented by legal aid attorneys Halldis Winje and Eitya Rehman.
They do not wish to comment on the matter.
