The story is set on a television channel, where a group of scriptwriters tries to reverse in a second season what was the failure of their most recent work: a television series about a women’s volleyball club that was intended to be a hymn to female empowerment. but which has been strongly questioned for its sexist nature. Fallen from grace, attacked on social networks, being victims of public ridicule and internal pressure from the television medium, they must fight to try to create a success again, juggling ideologically between mainstream and political correctness, between effectiveness and honesty, between what is good for fiction and what is good for themselves, between what is ethical and what is convenient, between dispensing with the old and giving way to the new; and all this originating a series of tragicomic situations with its colorful characters and offering the public a look at what television is within television. Showing -also- a mirror of the power dynamics on work and personal relationships and the social stereotypes projected in fiction series.

The Pale Ones, originally directed by its own author Lucía Carballal and produced by the National Dramatic Center, was premiered for the first time in the Francisco Nieva room of the Teatro Valle–Inclán in Madrid, Spain, on February 15, 2023, with Caracas being the first city Latina that debuts it on this continent. In addition, Carballal has just stood out as a television scriptwriter in series such as Vis a Vis (Netflix), Greyhounds (Movistar Plus) y The long shadows (Disney Plus).
