Tebboune points the finger at RSF

After the ceremony he chaired on Wednesday May 3, 2023 on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day at the International Conference Center (CIC) Abdelatif-Rahal (Algiers), the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, held his periodic interview with representatives of the national media.

Indeed, in the presence of several journalists, the Head of State granted an interview where several subjects related to the press and its freedom were discussed.

One of the subjects addressed by Tebboune, Reporters Without Borders (RSF). The President of the Republic first castigated the relentlessness of certain non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which constantly criticize Algeria and classify it among the countries which do not respect freedoms. Affirming that these are “unfounded allegations”, the Head of State assured that Algeria “believes in its children”.

Some NGOs, like “Reporters Without Borders (RSF)“, publish “rankings at the discretion of their leaders”, he underlined, affirming that the “only ranking to be taken into account is that of the United Nations and its institutions”.
