Xbox Game Pass January 2023 just added a new one that just came out to everyone’s surprise. This is a colorful title, at the crossroads of rhythm game and action.
The January 2023 Xbox Game Pass was a bit of a cold shower for many subscribers. Not because of the quality of games or notable releases, but purely because of the amount of games added. After a month of December with only one wave, players were hoping for a more generous start to the year. Until then, they had to settle for six novelties, including Monster Hunter Rise, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden as soon as they were released on Xbox Series, One and PC. Microsoft had nevertheless warned, it was “only a warm-up”. The American publisher took advantage of its Xbox Developer Direct conference to make a nice surprise.
Hi-Fi Rush coming to Xbox Game Pass January 2023
Microsoft showed off its upcoming Xbox Series, One, and PC games during its Xbox Developer Direct. A first showcase which gave pride of place to titles such as Redfall or Forza Motorsport but not only. The green brand took advantage of the event to unveil the new Xbox Game Pass additions after a less than usual month of January. Rumors gave hope for the arrival of big games including Cyberpunk 2077. What is it really? Nothing of that. The American publisher launched a new exclusive on Wednesday January 25, 2023 on Xbox Game Pass, PC and Xbox Series. The surprise was however half spoiled, since it is Hi-Fi Rush, the new game from Tango Gamework which has leaked before the hour.
Far from The Evil Within and the studio’s usual horror games, this new Xbox Game Pass presents itself as an experience combining rhythm and action in which the world moves to the rhythm of the music. You play as Chai, an up-and-coming rockstar who must battle against a sinister corporation of robotic upgrades while staying in sync with the music and movement of the environment. The gameplay is therefore keyed to the music, whether it is the blows you give or your dodges. In Hi-Fi Rush, each clash gives you the opportunity to make your own music video if you make sure your moves resonate with the music.
The last games of January and those of February revealed
As a surprise never comes alone, Microsoft has immediately revealed the complete list of the second wave of Xbox Game Pass games for January 2023. Five new titles will therefore be available in the coming days, including the highly anticipated GoldenEye 007.
