Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass they couldn’t help but notice that in recent times Microsoft has upset the historical roadmap that has always foreseen the announcement of two waves of games every month. Nothing was presented at the end of December, while the announcement scheduled for the first week of January has not yet been seen.

After the missed announcement at the end of December, we were already looking forward to the first wave of games of the year. The list was expected on the Xbox Wire columns on the first Tuesday of this month, i.e. January 3, but Redmond’s communication managers remained silent once again, perhaps because they were still on holiday for the Christmas holidays. Missed this appointment too, now our hopes are pinned on the day of Tuesday 10 January. We are sincerely curious to find out Microsoft’s next move, since in the history of Xbox Game Pass there had never been such a prolonged silence.

Luckily, we weren’t left completely dry-mouthed. Even if they have not been anticipated by great fanfares, in recent weeks two distinct productions have joined the catalogue: Stranded Deepa survival game set in an archipelago in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, arrived on January 3, while the good soulslike Mortal Shell it was added in its Enhanced Edition on January 5th. Both are available on all platforms – Cloud, Console and PC. A rumor also points to the imminent arrival of Shadow Warrior 3, although there are no confirmations in this regard yet.

The second half of January looks even more promising, as there are already five games confirmed for Xbox Game Pass: Persona 3 Portable (January 19), Persona 4 Golden (January 19), Monster Hunter: Rise (January 20), Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition for Xbox (January 31) and Inkulinati in Game Preview (January 31).
