Internal secrets surrounding ongoing projects at Xbox Games Studios have accidentally been revealed in connection with an ongoing legal investigation linked to a group of gamers trying to block the acquisition by Activision Blizzard. In a report from robbery Axios it is mentioned that the documents gossip about a secret sequel to a AAA game and it could take up to ten years to complete.
Whether it is an already announced game or not is not made clear, but the documents, which are partially classified, give us the following text:
“For instance, according to one Microsoft executive, (redacated), a forthcoming title from the (redacted) franchise, may take a decade to develop.”
Not much to go on in other words, but we do know that The Elder Scrolls 6 is one of the many games that are in an early design stage, something Todd Howard himself commented on two years ago. The idea of having to wait ten years for the next title in that series may not be something fans want to think about, but given its size, it doesn’t feel completely impossible at the same time.
