XDefiant is a hit, but had major technical issues. To thank players for their patience, Ubisoft has decided to extend the beta.

XDefiant, the new competitive FPS from Ubisoft, is currently in its first major beta test phase. Thousands of gamers are breaking their hair on consoles and PC and can test the limits of this direct competitor to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Overwatch 2 and Valuing. If the success is there and Ubisoft seems delighted with the first feedback, not everything went exactly as planned.

XDefiant extends its beta, here is the new date

Beta phase requires, the game is still quite unstable. XDefiant even had to be patched several times to guarantee the maintenance of its servers. For a few days, the FPS was even inaccessible on consoles. It is in particular because of these many hiccups that the producer Mark Rubin had spoken a few days ago by announcing that he was going to discuss with the teams in charge of the game to extend the beta for a few days. Ubisoft has therefore ended up trenching and the good news has just fallen.
the beta of XDefiant is extended by 48 hours and will now end on April 25 instead of closing its doors on the 23rd as originally planned.

A very promising free-to-play FPS

So you still have a few days to enjoy the game and a good part of its content planned for launch. XDefiant promises to be very generous as soon as it is released by offering no less than 14 different maps, more than twenty weapons, around forty accessories, gadgets galore and a ton of free and paid cosmetics. As a reminder XDefiant offers players the opportunity to compete in different objective game modes (in normal or competitive games) by embodying characters straight out of different major Ubisoft licenses. We find for example the infantrymen of Libertad (FarCry 6), the Phantoms of Ghost Recon or the small group DeadSec (Watch Dogs). XDefiant is a resolutely arcade FPS with instant handling and adds a touch of tactics by relying on a skill system that it will be possible to embark on in combat (and change on the fly). A now classic recipe in 2023, but very effective.

XDefiant is expected later this year in free-to-play on consoles and PC.
