A 21-year-old man died after being shot Friday in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, police said.

According to Pawtucket police, Julian Garcia, of North Providence, was shot multiple times while delivering food, according to WJAR.

Officers responded to the intersection of Barton and Montgomery streets around 9:00 p.m. Friday for reports of gunshots.

“Pop, pop, pop, pop. That’s why I thought it was a firecracker,” said a witness who did not want to be named.

The police found several bullet casings in the area.

Authorities were later notified that a man was taken to Miriam Hospital with a gunshot wound.

The Detective Division determined that the victim and a vehicle found at the hospital were related to the shooting.

Police believe that more than one suspect may be responsible for the shooting.
