Around 800 young people from around 30 countries are expected to participate in the competitions.
– It feels good that we once again together with the associations in Jönköping get the chance to organize an international championship Sweden, says Malin Lindgren.
European Championship 2016
It is not the first time that large cycling competitions at a high level have been arranged in Jönköping. Several national and European championships have taken place here over the years, for example the EC in mountain biking on the Huskvarnaberget.
– The last time it happened was the EC 2016 for elite and juniors, now the focus will be on young people instead as the European Cycling Federation has chosen to put the youth EC in Jönköping, says Anders Ljungberg from IKHP Huskvarna.
The SC in mountain biking was arranged at Hallbystugan in 2014 and since then they have worked continuously with competitions, which meant that the tracks were continuously developed and that the number of cyclists is constantly increasing.
